The Big Lunch is a very simple idea from the Eden Project. The aim is to get as many people as possible across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours annually in June in a simple act of community, friendship and fun.

Many people with ME feel isolated or lonely, but are wary of the cost of social interaction to their health or the difficulties in communicating that cognitive impairment can cause. However social contact has benefits too.

The challenge: have a simple meal with at least one other neighbour or friend on Sunday 12 May. It needn’t be a long session. Alternatively schedule a short visit or Skype call that you have been putting off. Remember, you may not be the only one in need of some company!

The Big Lunch Extras programme is looking for people in Wales who create positive change within their communities. The programme includes a free three-day residential camp at the Eden  Project in Cornwall, offering a mixture of practical activities, facilitated sessions and networking opportunities.  Watch the video
