The WAMES magazine me voice is a colour packed publication with news from Wales and around the world, which is relevant to people with ME and their carers.

The magazine also highlights campaigning and awareness raising and work done by ME people (artists, craft people, writers etc.), particularly in Wales, and is the main way we communicate with young people.

We aim to produce 4 issues a year but unfortunately the last issue we produced was 6 months ago in April, due to an increased workload. We would love to share our me voice with each other again.

Can you help?

The me voice team invites both occasional contributions and people wishing to become more involved with planning and production.

December issue – copy deadline Friday 2 Dec

Are you an amateur photographer?

We can use good quality photos of:

  • places in Wales
  • winter & Christmas
  • carers and caring
  • adults & young people living with ME

Do you have a wide selection of photos?

Can we call on you if we need a photo to illustrate a specific article?

Do you have something to share with others?

  • personal experience or tips for living with, or caring for ME
  • news from your local area
  • poems, puzzles and other items about ME, coping with winter or Christmas

It would be great if we had too much to choose from and have to hold contributions over until the next issue!

2017

Would you be like to be part of the editorial or production team in 2017?

We use Microsoft publisher 2013  to lay out the magazine, which is an advanced version of Word, and we aim to publish in March, June, Sep and Dec. The editorial team plans and gathers content. We communicate with other members of the team by email, phone and Skype as necessary – no boring meetings, but it can be good to bounce ideas off each other.

Let us know a bit about yourself and how you think you’d like to get involved by downloading and completing our Volunteering registration form (completely confidential) and we will arrange a chat.
