{"id":442,"date":"2015-11-03T10:59:57","date_gmt":"2015-11-03T10:59:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wames.org.uk\/cms-english\/"},"modified":"2015-11-04T09:32:17","modified_gmt":"2015-11-04T09:32:17","slug":"wames-campaigns","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wames.org.uk\/cms-english\/wames-campaigns\/","title":{"rendered":"WAMES&#8217; Campaigns"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>WAMES\u2019 campaigns<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>2013-16<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Let&#8217;s talk ME!<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The WAMES\u00a0 campaign to encourage people and professionals to \u2018Let\u2019s talk ME\u2019 aims to increase understanding about our struggle to live with, and find help for our misunderstood health condition.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/wames.org.uk\/cms-english\/2015\/08\/tell-your-me-story-to-nhs-wales\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tell your story<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; we want to hear stories from patients and carers of good <em>and<\/em> bad experiences of accessing care from to help us work with health and social care professionals.<\/p>\n<p>Following the publication of the <a href=\"http:\/\/wames.org.uk\/cms-english\/2014\/10\/mecfs-fm-health-services-action-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\">ME\/CFS\/FM Task &amp; Finish Group Report <\/a>(which WAMES was involved with,\u00a0Health Boards have been told to involve patients and carers in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.1000livesplus.wales.nhs.uk\/sitesplus\/documents\/1011\/Ruth%20Dineen.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">co-production<\/a> of services. WAMES will be working to ensure that patients and carers are invited to get involved, tell their stories and help to shape services.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>2012<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>WAMES survey of services 2012<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>We surveyed your experiences of services, good and bad. <a title=\"WAMES survey of services 2012\" href=\"http:\/\/wames.org.uk\/cms-english\/wames-survey-of-services\/\">Find out more.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><strong>ME Awareness Week 2012: 6 \u2013 12 May<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This year WAMES will be joining Facebook and Twitter to help raise the profile of ME in Wales. Contact Sylvia.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>2011<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>ME &amp; CFS <em>information for all<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>10 years of campaigning for better services and talking to people with ME, carers and professionals has shown us that accurate information about ME is not reaching those who need it.\u00a0 During ME Awareness week WAMES launched a campaign to provide better information in Welsh and English for all who need it, beginning with our new website.\u00a0 We are using research results, clinicians\u2019 experience and patient and carer stories to produce information sheets on a wide range of topics. These will become available on the website throughout the year, funded by the Big Lottery Fund. We invite people to contact us to let us know how we can meet your information needs.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Wear blue for ME <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>WAMES invites people with ME, their friends and family to raise awareness of ME by wearing blue ribbons or items of blue clothing during <a title=\"ME Awareness Week\" href=\"http:\/\/wames.org.uk\/cms-english\/get-involved\/me-awareness\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ME Awareness week<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>2007- 2008<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Don\u2019t forget ME!<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Following the WAMES\u2019 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a title=\"More tortoise than hare \" href=\"http:\/\/wames.org.uk\/cms-english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/MorE-tortoise-than-hare-a-report.pdf\">Survey of Local Health Boards<\/a><\/span> we challenged LHBs to provide appropriate services in line with the WAG\u2019s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a title=\"CCM\" href=\"http:\/\/wales.gov.uk\/topics\/health\/nhswales\/healthstrategy\/ccm\/currentstrategies\/chronicconditionsmanagement\/;jsessionid=72HRNTzTRpphlGJsBZ3y83xkfC2dsKfbtyhWfcg06K2PtQYdqpBn!1452112521?lang=en\">Chronic Conditions Management Framework<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>2005<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a title=\"ME Diagnosis\" href=\"http:\/\/wames.org.uk\/cms-english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/me_diagnosis_report.pdf\">ME Diagnosis \u2013 delay harms health<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>WAMES joined with groups throughout the UK to highlight the difficulties people experience in getting a diagnosis and the harm that delay can cause.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WAMES\u2019 campaigns 2013-16 Let&#8217;s talk ME!
