Two world renown ME\/CFS paediatricians,\u00a0Prof Peter Rowe and Dr Nigel Speight, discuss paediatric ME\/CFS diagnosis and management in two short videos for medical professionals, following publication of the comprehensive manual\u00a0Myalgic Encephalomyelitis\/ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Diagnosis and Management in Young People: A Primer<\/a><\/em>\u00a0\u00a0published in Frontiers 2017.<\/p>\n

\"\"Peter Rowe MD\u00a0<\/strong>is a Professor of Paediatrics and is Director of the Children\u2019s Center Chronic Fatigue Clinic\u00a0at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, USA.\u00a0His areas of clinical expertise include chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia and orthostatic intolerance.\u00a0Prof Peter Rowe played a \u00a0major role in the production of \u00a0the recent \u00a0Myalgic Encephalomyelitis\/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Diagnosis and Management in Young People: A Primer<\/em>.\u00a0He was also a member of the team which produced the very influential report:\u00a0Beyond Myalgic Encephalomyelitis\/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: Redefining an Illness<\/a><\/em>.\u00a0Published in 2015 by the National Academy of Medicine, USA, it includes diagnostic criteria, a clinicians guide and a comprehensive literature review.<\/p>\n

\"\"Dr Nigel Speight<\/strong>\u00a0is a\u00a0\u00a0consultant Paediatrician with a long standing special interest in ME, based in Durham, UK. He is a medical advisor for several charities including the\u00a0ME Association,\u00a0The Young ME Sufferers Trust\u00a0and the\u00a025% ME Group.\u00a0Dr Speight \u00a0was among the expert ME\/CFS paediatricians contributing to\u00a0Myalgic Encephalomyelitis\/ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Diagnosis and Management in Young People: A Primer<\/em>.\u00a0He previously contributed to the\u00a0\u201cMyalgic Encephalomyelitis International Consensus Criteria<\/em><\/a>\u201d\u00a0and it\u2019s related\u00a0\u201cPrimer\u2019\u00a0for Medical Practitioners.<\/a> 2011\u00a0He served on the\u00a0Chief Medical Officer\u2019s Working Party on ME<\/a>\u00a02002 and also the\u00a0College of Paediatrics and Child Health Guidelines Group<\/a>\u00a02004.<\/p>\n
