--smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 300\/165;\" \/><\/a>In this paper we summarize the evidence regarding the role of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicinenet.com\/script\/main\/art.asp?articlekey=18985\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">autoimmunity<\/a> in these four syndromes with respect to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Immunogenetics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">immunogenetics<\/a>, autoimmune co-morbidities, alteration in immune cell subsets, production of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Autoantibody\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">autoantibodies<\/a> and presentation in animal models.<\/p>\n<p>These syndromes could be incorporated in a new concept of <strong>autoimmune neurosensory dysautonomia<\/strong> with the common denominators of autoantibodies against G-protein coupled receptors and small fiber neuropathy. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/diseases-conditions\/sjogrens-syndrome\/symptoms-causes\/syc-20353216\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sjogren&#8217;s syndrome<\/a>, which is a classical autoimmune disease, could serve as a disease model, illustrating the concept.<\/p>\n<p>Development of this concept aims to identify an apparently autoimmune subgroup of the disputable disorders, addressed in the review, which may most benefit from the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Immunotherapy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">immunotherapy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sci-hub.tw\/https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1016\/j.clim.2020.108384\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Read full paper<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Complex syndromes of chronic pain, fatigue and cognitive impairment linked to autoimmune dysautonomia and small fiber neuropathy, by Yehuda Shoenfeld, Varvara A Ryabkova, Carmen Scheibenbogen, Louise Brinth, Manuel Martinez-Lavine, Shuichi Ikeda, Harald Heidecke, Abdulla Watad, Nicola L Bragazzi, Joab Chapman, &hellip;
