Yet still I must demand and demand again.
\nTheir death demands we ask for integrity and truth.
\nBut there is so little of it out there
\nAll lost in compromise or outright denial and ignorance.
\nThe dead grow,
\nShockingly.<\/p>\n
Loved ones depart out of the blue, without prior expectation.
\nThe shock leaves tremors in the community of the sick
\nstill left behind,
\nNot knowing who will be next.
\nFearing the worst
\nYet hoping for the best.
\nThere is so little truth.
\nThere is such little accurate representation.
\nThere is such little helpful information.
\nAnd even less reliable help.<\/p>\n
No one knows any more if the diagnosis is even reliable.
\nIf what I have is what you have
\nOr what they, who died, had either.
\nIt is all such a deliberately orchestrated human tragedy.
\nAnd whilst we weep,
\nThe names of the dead and their unjust suffering
\nDemands we do more
\nSomehow
\nTo explain
\nTo answer
\nTo justify
\nTo insist
\nThat it stop
\nNow
\nOnce and for all.<\/p>\n
Their precious lives unfairly lost too soon.
\nOutrageously hidden in a fatigue lie
\nThat did not represent them
\nCould not help them
\nCould only harm them.
\nAs the long line builds
\nThe roll call of the dead
\nGrows
\nAs does the unrest in my soul,
\nThe indescribable suffering of all those living and dead
\nCould never be condoned
\nAcceptable or compensated for.
\nFor it is unimaginable
\nUnreasonable
\nUnacceptable
\nAnd were it to be recognised and fully admitted
\nBy those who should do so,
\nThe tears of remorse would flood the whole universe
\nAnd the shame be so overwhelming
\nThat people would turn their heads in shock at what has
\nbeen done to us (or not)
\nIn the name of science and medicine and politics.
\nAnd people would hang their heads and never dare look
\nup again
\nIf they had any insight or honesty in their hearts
\nOf their contribution
\nTo this unending torment,
\nOnly silenced
\nBy death itself.<\/p>\n
Whilst the names and the faces
\nLinger tenderly
\nIn the hearts of those who do know
\nAnd remember with love.<\/p>\n
