A call for support and recognition for young adult carers taking place on 2 July, 12:30 – 13:30, Oriel, Senedd, Cardiff Bay and Sponsored by the Minister for Education and Skills, Huw Lewis AM.

Carers Trust Wales would like to invite you to join them for the launch at the Senedd of their report on young adult carers’ experiences in Wales. There are over 22,000 young adult carers aged 14-25 in Wales who provide care, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction cannot cope without their support.

The Time to be Heard Wales report highlights for the first time the experiences of young adult carers in Wales based on the conversations they have shared with the Trust over the past year about the challenges of caring.

They will be joined at the launch by young adult carers from across Wales, some of who will be speaking about their experiences. The event will include speeches from the Minister for Education and Skills, Huw Lewis AM, and the Deputy Minister for Health, Vaughan Gething.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.  Please RSVP to SDouglas@carers.org
