With great early-bird discounts available for members (until the end of May), registration is now open for the third annual CMRC conference, being held Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 September 2016 at Novotel, Newcastle Airport.

Confirmed speakers include:

– Dr David Patrick, University of British Columbia, Canada
– Dr Sarah Knight, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, Australia.
– Prof David Jones, Newcastle University, UK

More speakers are in the process of being confirmed and oral presentations will be invited following peer review of submitted abstracts.

Plenary sessions on day one will cover:

  • clinical trials
  • big data, biomarkers and stratification
  • workshops which will include: community-based participatory research; severe M.E.; and a joint workshop on Postural Tachycardia Syndrome with PoTs UK
  • presentations from researchers funded by the Medical Research Council

Plenary sessions on day two include:

  • new and unpublished research
  • children and young people
  • the Anne Faulkner Memorial Lecture.

Day one, including early evening drinks reception, is open to all delegates and will close at 7.30pm. To provide space for unpublished data to be shared and for new collaborations to be explored, day two of the conference is open to researchers only, as is the dinner the night before.

The programme will be updated once new speakers are confirmed.

Abstracts are now invited, with a deadline of Thursday 30 June. Poster presentations will be invited following peer review alongside oral presentations for those that are of high quality. The CMRC has created more oral presentation slots this year given the excellent standard of submissions last year. This will offer further opportunities for sharing insight and learning from research currently being undertaken.

The conference is open to researchers and Associate Members of the CMRC.
