Care & Repair’s ‘Fighting Fuel Poverty’ campaign aims to highlight the scandal of pensioner winter deaths in Wales (1,900 in 2012/13) and to find solutions to help those in need. [NB Younger people with mobility problems on low incomes are also at risk]

From 20-27 October Care & Repair is running a media campaign to highlight the issues and to get the message across to older people across Wales that there is help available and if they need help then to call Care & Repair.

If Care & Repair reaches 100 supporters, a mass message will be broadcast from all supporters’ accounts at 2pm next Thursday. This will have a huge impact and will ensure that the phone number is promoted far and wide. This is a vital strand of their campaign as one of the main aims for the week is to make sure that older people know exactly where to go for advice.
