The National CFS Diagnostic and rehabilitation service in Queen’s Hospital, Romford, Essex  is to close. This inpatient facility based in the Essex Neurosciences Unit accepted patients from all over the UK, including Wales, and was the only service of its kind, but the number of admissions had been falling, possibly due to cost cutting exercises. The service’s lead consultant, Professor Leslie Findley, will be retiring and the 5 beds will be used for local neuro-rehabilitation patients.
