Carers Wales news post: Track the Act: Are new rights making life better for you?

Have you had any contact with your local council since April, or has the person you look after had an assessment or a review of a care plan?

The Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act came into force in April, and means important new rights for carers, including a right to an assessment.

G.B. ENGLAND. CARERS. Darran and Jocelyn Prosser care for their daughter Amy who has a genetic condition, Trichothiodystrophy. She has had many operations and requires extensive care. Darran also has to be cared for as he lost his left arm and leg in an industrial accident. Jocelyn also needs care as she has had spinal surgery and epilepsy.

Carers Wales is calling on carers to help us Track the Act and find out if it is making a difference. If you haven’t already done so, help us by completing our short questionnaire.
