People tell us WAMES makes a difference to their lives.

WAMES:

led by people with ME, and their carers
run by volunteers
funded by donations
Campaigns            Supports         Informs

Backed by local ME support groups in 2001, WAMES set out with big plans to improve services, support each other and inform everyone about the serious impact ME or CFS has on our lives.

Fifteen years later, in 2016, we can see we have made some impact with the media turning to us for information about ME, discussions about ME services with the government and NHS, and appreciation expressed by people for our helpline and information services.

All our activities have been led by those whose lives have been turned upside down in some way or another by ME or CFS. Currently WAMES has 11 volunteers and an annual expenditure of around £2,000.

13,000 people in Wales could have ME or CFS

Together we can make more of a difference!

Can you join in helping us to take advantage of all the opportunities ahead of us to improve the quality of life for people with ME in Wales?

Over the next few weeks we will suggest ways you can join in the challenge to make a difference whatever your circumstances (busy, bedbound, job hunting or new to ME) and we would like to hear your ideas too.

A big thank you to Sharon & Gareth (Team Shareth) for their awareness and fund raising sponsored swim, to begin Mon 28 November.
