The Patient and Carer Participation Service is provided to enable patients and carers to become more involved in the design and delivery of health and social services by influencing decision making and ensuring that all services provided are developed to meet local needs.

A Patient and Carer Participation group has been set up in each of the five GP Community
Network areas of Swansea:

  • Bay
  • City
  • Cwmtawe
  • Llwchwr
  • Penderi

Click here to see a map with details of the areas covered by each Network.

To become a member of a group, you must be registered at a GP practice within the area.
Members meet up every eight weeks. To encourage patients and carers to become members, expenses can be paid and transport can be arranged. The project can speak with individuals around child care support and replacement care if this is required for an individual to attend a meeting.

The following meetings are taking place in July:

  • Llwchwr area:    Friday 15th July 2016, 10.30am – 12.30pm, Canolfan Gorseinon Centre, Millers Drive,  Gorseinon, Swansea, SA4 4QN
